Chung Yuan Christian University requires that new and renovated buildings follow the energy management indicators of Taiwan’s national green building standard, EEWH (Ecology, Energy Saving, Waste Reduction, Health). From the production of building materials through planning, design, construction, use, management, and demolition, the criteria are to consume the fewest earth resources, use the least energy, and produce the least waste.
The Zhixing Navigation Building, a new building on campus, received the Diamond-level Green Building Label in 2020. It was certified as meeting seven key indicators, including:
- Greenery
- Soil Water Retention
- Daily Energy Saving
- CO₂ Reduction
- Construction Waste Reduction
- Water Resources
- Sewage and Garbage Improvement
The initial certification was valid for five years. It was renewed in August 2025 and is now valid until August 2030.
