About Our Program

Our university is guided by the principle of ‘creative services through social design.’ We’re actively involved in the Xiaoli New Rural Creative Industry, and by ‘activating the Xiaoli Cultural Green Corridor,’ we’re injecting vitality into the aging Xiaoli community, aiming to restore its past glory. Our team establishes community care stations, fostering a living-learning community. Through discussions on local social issues, we guide students to apply their classroom knowledge, respond to real-world social needs, and foster a deeper concern for society.

Our Initiatives

  • Geriatric Well-being

Through in-depth social observation, we identify critical local issues such as population aging and intergenerational child-rearing (i.e., grandparenting). By leveraging design-driven approaches, we develop innovative solutions to address these challenges and enhance the overall well-being of elderly residents.

  • Food & Wellness Community Building

We support local agriculture and industries by promoting community building and regional revitalization. Through value-added design integration, we aim to strengthen the local economic foundation and inspire younger generations to return to their hometowns and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

  • Design Entrepreneurship

We bring together faculty and students from Chung Yuan Christian University, utilizing the diverse design resources within the College of Design to establish social enterprises and revitalize local industries.
