About Our Program
Since 2015, we have actively participated in the Ministry of Education’s “School-Centered Community Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program.” This initiative harnesses university resources to support rural primary schools in community development, assisting these smaller schools in identifying and leveraging their unique strengths.
Through this program, we have facilitated the establishment of new enterprises centered on local specialties. In collaboration with local farmers and corporate partners, we successfully founded Shuanglian Pear Co., Ltd., a social enterprise. Its flagship product, the High-Graft Pear, has enabled us to create a dedicated brand that represents the Shuanglian community.
Our goal is to revitalize the local economy and community by promoting locally grown Shuanglian Pears. The profits generated are reinvested to prevent the closure of Shuanglian Elementary School, making this Taiwan’s first public-interest initiative that employs a social enterprise model to breathe new life into a rural primary school.
Our Initiatives
一、 Deepening Local Culture & Humanities
1-We aim to increase farmers’ income by providing social enterprise guidance.
2-We will integrate Chung Yuan Christian University’s resources with local elementary schools to develop distinctive curricula, helping to retain students in the community.
二、 Developing New Agricultural Artisan Models
1. We plan to establish a crop rotation system by leveraging social enterprises to integrate various community resources.
2. We will build trust with farmers by demonstrating tangible returns, allowing them to see concrete benefits.
三、Social Enterprise Incubation
1. We seek to expand distribution channels to large-scale downstream chain stores.
2. We will establish an exclusive brand specifically for Zhuolan fruits.
3. We will implement a new fruit grading system to ensure greater transparency in fruit information.
