About Our Program

Since 2009, the governments of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and El Salvador have collaborated on the “One Child, One Computer” initiative to connect Salvadoran children with the world and bridge the digital divide. Building on this, our team launched the “El Salvador IT Volunteer Program” in 2015, partnering with the Salvadoran government to expand learning opportunities. We aim to establish vibrant computer classrooms by building on past service experiences and introducing innovative methods to spark learning motivation. We also promote cultural exchange and co-teach IT curricula with local university students and teachers, sharing mutual learning experiences.

Our Initiatives

一、 Computer Education
We implement a theme-based teaching approach, integrating games into our lessons. As a result, 80% of students learn to use the software taught in class, and 100% show increased interest in learning about computers.

二、 Solar Energy Experience Camp:
Our camp starts with basic power generation principles and real-life applications of solar energy, followed by a DIY solar model car activity for hands-on learning. This helps students understand the value of solar energy, raises environmental awareness, and deepens their grasp of renewable energy, contributing to sustainability. To foster mutual exchange, we facilitate experiential activities that help us understand each other’s cultures. For instance, we introduce traditional Taiwanese games and share insights into our night market and Lunar New Year customs. Local institution teachers, in turn, lead us in soccer, volcano exploration, and basic Chinese and Spanish language lessons, deepening our understanding of each other’s national backgrounds and cultures.
