Chung Yuan Christian University has long been committed to removing physical barriers so that people with disabilities have equal access to campus resources. Accessibility improvements fall into two parts: pathways and facilities.
As for pathways, accessible routes have been built at the main campus entrances, through the buildings, and in the public areas of teaching buildings, the library, student dormitories, the gymnasium, and restaurants. Accessible parking spaces are provided in suitable locations. As for facilities, the University is reviewing the installation of accessible toilets and elevators in each building, and low-level service counters have been set up in the administrative buildings so that wheelchair users can handle paperwork more easily.

The University has also set up a Special Education Student Resource Center to help students adapt to campus life. Its main aim is to understand students’ needs and offer academic enhancement classes, self-development activities, and small-group lectures.
