About Our Program
The Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Department of Information Management (DIM) team applies its diverse information technology (IT) expertise. Through teaching, sharing, and hands-on practice, they interact with local children, enabling them to learn by doing and effectively acquire knowledge. The initiative aims to equip them with fundamental IT concepts, guiding children who wish to learn about information technology. This effort seeks to bridge the wealth and digital divide, thereby enhancing the children’s competitiveness.
Our Initiatives
Given that the local area primarily consists of Indigenous tribal families whose livelihoods are centered on agriculture, and who face poverty and underdevelopment compared to other regions, the team has designed various digital courses. These include engaging educational camps focused on topics like programming/coding, mini-game development, and interactive experiences. The aim is to significantly boost local high school students’ interest in information technology, thereby addressing the digital divide within the tribal regions.
