About Our Program
The Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Overseas Volunteer Myanmar Team is working to establish activity-based student clubs in local Chinese-language schools, aiming to extend the impact of the 28-day service trip by empowering students to teach local children using their own skills and knowledge. This fosters sustainable influence and boosts motivation in English and Math learning.
This year’s service centers on a “Club Seed Training Camp,” guiding students to organize and run their own camps, thereby strengthening their planning and independent thinking skills for long-term club operation.
Our Initiatives
1. Club Seed Training Camp
To achieve our goal of establishing self-sustaining student clubs in local Chinese-language schools, we’re holding a Club Seed Training Camp. This camp will equip students with the skills for independent planning and organizing activities. Our aim is for them to eventually run their own events and form clubs, thereby fostering teamwork, boosting their learning motivation, and enhancing their competitiveness.
2. Post-Service Sharing
Our overseas volunteer service doesn’t end when the trip does. We plan to host numerous achievement presentations and sharing sessions to disseminate our experiences and highlight the needs in Myanmar to more students, faculty, and the public, both within and outside the university. We’re committed to continuing the spread of love and learning domestically.
3. Service Continuity
After returning to Taiwan, we continued to communicate with the students from the Chinese language school through instant messaging apps. This allows them to consult us for our opinions and ideas anytime they organize future events. We will also host charity sales and donate the proceeds back to the local communities in Myanmar.
