About Our Program
Through our power systems course, we’re applying what we learn to service-learning initiatives. We’re also getting hands-on experience by organizing electricity-related activities, which allows us to use our professional skills to help more people. We hope this experience will also train our team in communication, planning, and discussion, strengthening our overall service capabilities
Our Initiatives
一、 Tianliaokeng Village, Hengshan Township, Hsinchu County
After our outreach and consultation services, many residents expressed that the process—from lectures and contract capacity evaluations to actual measurements—significantly increased their understanding of electricity safety techniques and crucial precautions. The students also experienced Hakka culture firsthand and learned valuable communication skills for interacting with elders. Furthermore, they gained experience in integrating diverse ideas from team members through discussion to form a cohesive unit.
二、 The Carpenter’s Home Care Association & PingZhen Baptist Church
The most successful activities for both service teams were the donation drive and appliance inspection/repair event. During these events, professional technicians from The Carpenter’s Home actively participated and helped organize, allowing our team members to gain substantial knowledge in appliance repair. Additionally, The Carpenter’s Home team plans to host a community event at the end of May to educate local residents and children on power-saving knowledge. Preparations are well underway, and we’ve reached a consensus with the organization. The PingZhen Baptist Church team also assisted with venue setup for every activity, ensuring smoother and faster connection, tidying, and installation of large equipment.
