Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) draws its water mainly from the municipal tap supply, supplemented by groundwater. Rainwater and reclaimed water are used for non-drinking purposes. The campus runs a dual-pipe water supply system, with two sets of water towers and rainwater harvesting facilities. Tap and well water consumption is recorded every month. As part of its work on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CYCU measures campus water use systematically and keeps the data in a sustainability database. By tracking and analyzing these figures under SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), the University reduces its reliance on municipal water, reuse Environmental Safety Centers more of its water, and bases its environmental management on evidence.
