SDG 17.2.3 International collaboration data gathering for SDG

Chung Yuan Christian University actively takes part in international collaboration on collecting and measuring data for the SDGs:
Climate, Environment, and Health 2 (CEH 2)
This research project brings together efforts across countries to collect meteorological and diarrheal disease data and to analyze the risk of diarrheal infectious diseases in Asia-Pacific countries under different weather conditions. Based on the evidence, the project will build an early warning system and a mobile app tailored to the language and culture of each country. Participating countries include Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, India, South Africa, and Indonesia. The U.S. team is responsible for the overall meteorological data and the development of the early warning tool, while the Taiwan team is responsible for educational materials and community adaptation programs. Through this collaboration, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) plays a key role in strengthening global public health resilience. So far, the team has visited five cities in Indonesia, working with five universities, two elementary schools, and three communities to raise awareness of the health threats of climate change (AWARE), particularly diarrheal diseases.

CYCU Partners with NVIDIA and Global Teams in Quantum Computing: Driving Renewable Energy Forecasting and National Sustainability Data Measurement

Led by Vice President Ying-Yi Hong, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) worked with NVIDIA to improve solar radiation forecasting on the CUDA-Q quantum platform, speeding up model training by 2.7 times; the results were published in IEEE Access. CYCU takes part in international collaborations to collect and measure data related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), working with Fujitsu, NTU, and industry peers to standardize metrics for renewable energy and materials screening. Using global quantum computing frameworks, CYCU contributes high-precision measurement data to global energy sustainability and climate action.

Celebrating Its 70th Anniversary, CYCU Hosts Austronesian International Forum to Advance Global Partnerships and SDG Data Measurement

In its 70th anniversary year, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) hosted the “2025 Austronesian Cultural Design Industry International Forum,” which featured former Vice President Chien-Jen Chen and foreign diplomats. With a focus on culture, indigenous innovation, and the SDGs, CYCU took part in international cooperation to collect and measure data related to the Sustainable Development Goals. By combining Maori creative economy metrics, ecological data on Taoyuan’s waterways, and geothermal energy assessments, CYCU built a cross-national sustainability dataset. The initiative uses design as a bridge for global diplomacy, indigenous empowerment, and scientific measurement of sustainability.

CYCU Facilitates Historic MOU Between Taiwan’s Bureau of Cultural Heritage and TICCIH at Kiruna Congress

A Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) team led by Professor Hsiao-Wei Lin of the Department of Architecture attended the 19th TICCIH Congress in Kiruna, Sweden, in 2025. CYCU helped bring about a landmark MOU between Taiwan’s Bureau of Cultural Heritage and TICCIH through the Asian Network of Industrial Heritage (ANIH), creating a structured global partnership. In addition to presenting new research on industrial cultural routes, CYCU faculty and alumni showed strong academic leadership in international heritage governance and preservation and in sustainable regional development.
